But if your skilled even 4x2 can also be driven till the temple. Or just 2 km walk on the mud road is best option to have good trekking experience. This place is a Hidden paradise, a historical Shiva temple located next to the beautiful falls, It is good to watch in rainy season. This place is optional in this route plan.

My Travel Story to this very tight scheduled perfect plan, with 1300 km in 50 hours! yet how we did it ?

1) 0 to 20% :-

It was our great and well-planned trip in a short time to visit these places, how it started was, Me and my friend just wanted to visit Dharmasthala Temple on a weekend, just visit and come back no more plans. It was a rainy day of September and after a tea and something, no need to explain what is that something!!.., I started a Whatsapp chat with the group, 5 guys were ready to join after a 4 hr of convincing, uff!! later I thought, after a long back we guys are going out and I want to make these 2 days more efficient and memorable. So made the above plan and we started on Friday evening by 5 pm after the office by my life partner Ford Ikon 1.6. yessss!!

Our plan is to reach Sigandhur by early morning 3 am and have first pooja, the same way we headed to Chitradurga and had our dinner later drove to Shivamogga and reached by 10.30 pm. We knew that the ferry service cannot be done overnight, so we took the complete journey on the road via Hosanagar, reached Sigandhur by 2 am

It was just a few minutes after rainfall, and the cold breeze was so good and there were very fewer visitors that time who are already reached by evening or night, there is a restroom facility maintained by the temple which is clean and good, (if we keep the premises well & clean, that's a good discipline which we can donate to temple without a penny) later we got freshen up and went inside the temple by 3 am and had Dharshan came out by 4.30 am itself. Early morning Dharshan is something which cannot be explained, in fact its the most divine experience everyone should feel it. Later with a Tea on drizzling chilling weather next target Jog falls was our bucket list.

2) 20% to 40% (Still loading) :-

Sigandhur to jog falls is 75 km with 2 hr drive on the dense forest with most scenic curvy roads, We reached Jog falls by 7 am with an awesome foggy drive experience. We spent 2 hour in jog falls taking selfies (With safety), slow motion videos, coffee from the front view point. It is prohibited to reach on the top of the falls but with a permission or request we might get a chance to see the falls from where it falls! Luckily we had that chance, it is extremely dangerous and strictly not for kids, BE CAREFUL!! have Maggie, bread omelet, etc., on local shops, with that winter climate its amazing.

Jog falls to Bheemeshwar temple and water falls is 40 km with 1 hr Drive, This place is very less known Hidden Paradise, You can search this place in Google! This place is 2 km inside the main road, With only accessible by 4x4, We reached around 10 am and took 2-3 hour to reach and come back to main road. An article “Mysterious temples” has more information about this place. you can search it in Home page.

Kollur is a 55 km away from Bheemeshwar & our journey inside the forest and kodachadhri Ghat range when the sun is about to raise was extraordinary, that was one of the beautiful drives which I did in western ghats and took 2 hr to reach Kollur by 2 pm, The temple was closed and it will open again around 3 pm, But luckily the Prasadham (Free meals) was available at that time and we finished our lunch too, we came out from the temple within 30 min as there was less crowd, had our breakfast and started towards Sringeri at 3.30 pm.

3) 40% to 60% (Downloading) :-

After the powerful lunch at Kollur, it was a time to climb in Agumbe, which is the highest rainfall area in Karnataka, Sringeri can be reached via Agumbe or Theertha halli from Kollur, we choose Agumbe to experience the beautiful view and curvy ghat roads, we reached Sringeri by 6 pm, Usually, these places will be less crowded in rainy seasons and So we had a Dharshan in less than 30 min here also.

We went to the river Tunga took a few photos and inquired the best routes to reach our next destination Horanadu.

Out of 5 guys, 3 were good drivers, its best to have at least 2 friends who can drive for these types of forest single roads, Horanadu is just 60 km from Sringeri, proper roads and directions are easy to find, we reached Horanadu by 9 pm and as the temple closes at 10 pm after Main pooja, we were planned to reach by 9. If we were not close to this time we would have planned to Dharmasthala directly from Sringeri! Even we had Prasdaham (Free meals) at Horanadu too, it was our dinner! Thank you goddess Shree Annapoorneshwari!

So our plan is to reach Dharmasthala on Saturday night and yes, We had 100 km left to complete days journey. Keep in mind, Driving in these road later nights is not safe unless you have best experience! And of course we were travelling one of the difficult roads of Karnataka, which is Charmadi Ghat! Among Dakshina Kannada routes Charmadi Ghat is one of the most scenic and breath taken route, but we couldn't able to see anything because it was almost 11 pm. 😁. Reached Dharmasthala by 1 am and took a room for 150 rupees only and next is good sleep.

4) 60% to 80% (Uploading) :-

Next day early morning we woke up, freshen up and started to stand in Q for Dharshan around 6.30 am, since it was Sunday the temple will be crowded even early morning also for Dharshan, it took 1.5 hours and we came out of the temple by 8 am, Since our bag was packed and kept in the car already and the car was waiting for us to go to the next destination Southadka Ganapathi temple which is just 20 km from Dharmasthala and 30 minutes.

After Dharshan at Southadka. We had breakfast and next was Kukke, which is 40 km from Southadka and 1 hour drive. Kukke Reached by 11 am.

5) 80% to 100% (Loading completed) :-

Dharshan at Kukke was a bit crowded and we came out of the temple after 2 hours of long Q even from special Dharshan ticket, Some times in order to see more places in less time, we have to choose special Dharshan to save time! Only if it is reasonable price!

Probably travelers had heard of Bisle ghat but very few had visited, as it was difficult to reach by that time with completely disaster roads! But now these roads are far far better than earlier and still construction going on, But all the vehicles can go in this road now! We started around 12 pm from Kukke and reached Bisle ghat view point which is just 25 km and 1 hr Drive, The western ghat views from this point and Trekking paradise Kumara parvatha view is unbelievable and must visit for all! advantage of this place is on the way to Mind blowing Mallali Falls from Kukke!

Bisle ghat to Mallali falls 25 km which is hardly 1 hr Drive, After spending an hour in Bisle we reached Mallali falls at 3 pm, Roads are in good condition! We spent 2 hours on the falls reaching half the way down only by steps and since we were tired, we didn’t make it till the bottom of the falls, as it was not out first time visit. After the light snacks at drizzling weather, straight drive to Bangalore via NH 75 in 6-7 hours, with light traffic. Reached home by 11 pm.

Our mission was accomplished finally, we were so tired but still had a wonderful feeling of visiting all these places in just 2 days, we drove through Kodachadhri Ghat, Agumbe Ghat, Charmadi Ghat, Bisle Ghat and much more scenic forests, hill station, crossed so many River belts, and much more…

Make use of this plan at least to cover few, everything is not possible when we were travelling with family and kids, With additional one day families can have best time.

But for adventurers, Driving lovers, Soulful travelers this is Heaven.

Have a safe journey! Always!

The End!!!
