Goa – Pearl of the Orient

Konkani, being the official language, is spoken by the majority of the people in Goa, followed by the co-official language Marathi.

It is India's smallest state by area.

Goa is visited by large numbers of international and domestic tourists each year because of its white-sand beaches, active nightlife, places of worship, and World Heritage-listed architecture.

Mormugao harbour on the mouth of the Zuari river is considered one of the best natural harbours in South Asia.

Some of the oldest rocks in the Indian subcontinent are found in Goa between Molem and Anmod on Goa's border with Karnataka.

A native of Goa is called a Goan.

Goa stands 6th in the Top 10 Nightlife cities in the world in National Geographic Travel.

The coastline of about 103 kilometres (64 mi) has some of the most attractive beaches flanked by the Arabian Sea.

The beaches of Goa are counted among the most beautiful in the world. Some of the beaches include Anjuna Beach, Baga Beach, Bambolim Beach, Betul Beach, Calangute Beach, Candolim Beach, Cavelossim Beach, Colva Beach, Butterfly Beach, Majorda Beach and Miramar Beach.
