Here we go!!!
🌿⛩️💦
Day 1: 4am - Siganduru
Why Visit Siganduru Shree Chowdeshwari Temple at 4 AM? ⏰🙏
The temple opens daily at 4 AM, making this early hour the most sacred and peaceful time to visit with very few crowds. Since public transport isn’t available then, booking your own vehicle is the best way to reach on time and experience the temple’s serene morning rituals fully.
Day 1: Early Morning Blessings at Siganduru Shree Chowdeshwari Temple 🙏🌅
Kickstart your spiritual road trip bright and early at the Siganduru Shree Chowdeshwari Temple, a serene and revered shrine tucked away in the peaceful countryside. Arriving at 4 AM means you’ll catch the temple in its tranquil dawn glory, when the atmosphere is filled with calm prayers, soft chants, and the gentle awakening of nature. 🕉️✨
The temple is dedicated to Goddess Chowdeshwari, and locals believe it to be a powerful place of blessings and miracles. The early morning rituals here are truly a spiritual experience, setting a peaceful tone for the adventurous day ahead. 🌸🕯️
After soaking in the divine energy, get ready to hit the road and explore the wonders Karnataka has in store!
Day 1: 7am - Shri Bheemeshwara Temple & Waterfalls
This ancient cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is nestled right beside a stunning waterfall and embraced by the dense, lush forests of the Western Ghats—offering a perfect blend of spirituality and nature’s raw beauty. 🛕💧🌳
Day 1: 7 AM — Spiritual Vibes and Nature’s Splash at Shri Bheemeshwara Temple & Waterfalls 🌿💧🙏
About 50 km (1 hour 30 minutes) from Siganduru, the Shri Bheemeshwara Temple is a serene spiritual spot nestled in lush surroundings.
Tucked away in a quiet corner off the Kargal to Bhatkal road, Shri Bheemeshwara Temple is a unique and ancient cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, set against the mesmerizing backdrop of a natural waterfall and surrounded by the dense forests of the Western Ghats. If you're a nature lover or spiritual seeker with a taste for the offbeat, this spot is pure magic.
🌿 A Temple Wrapped in Nature & Myth
According to local legends, this sacred temple was built by the Pandavas during their exile. The waterfall flows directly over the shrine, making it one of the most mystical Shiva temples in Karnataka. The setting is remote, peaceful, and incredibly scenic — it’s the kind of place that makes you pause and just breathe in the silence of nature.
🥾 Getting There – A Mini Trek Adventure
To reach the temple, you’ll need to get off the main road and trek about 1.5 km through a lush forest path. It's more of a mud road than a trail, and while 4x4 vehicles or local jeeps are available for hire, many prefer walking to soak in the raw beauty of the forest.
The walk itself is beautiful and immersive: green canopy overhead, birdsong all around, and even a small stream crossing with a wooden bridge — perfect for a peaceful break or a few photos.
Just a heads-up: during the monsoon, leeches are common (and seem to love visitors!), so dress accordingly and carry some salt or repellents.
💧 Waterfalls: Look, Don’t Leap!
The waterfall here is sacred, and although it’s absolutely stunning, bathing or playing in the falls is not recommended. The rocks are steep and slippery, and the space near the shrine is limited. However, the view itself is worth every step — especially post-monsoon, when the falls are at their fullest.
📝 Pro Tip: Avoid summer months if you're coming for the waterfall — the flow dries up, and you might miss out on the temple’s true charm.

🚗 My Ultimate 2-Day Spiritual + Adventure Road Trip – 1300 km in 50 Hours! 🛕🌧️💯
If you're someone who lives for the thrill of the open road, tight schedules, and a powerful mix of spiritual energy and natural beauty, this journey is your kind of madness! 😍💪
We pulled off a 1300 km road trip in just 50 hours, covering temples, waterfalls, and 4 Western Ghat routes — Sigandur, Kollur, Sringeri, Horanadu, Dharmasthala, Southadka, Kukke, Bisle Ghat, and Mallalli Falls. Here's how it all went down...
🔹 0% to 20% – “Just Dharmasthala”... Or So We Thought 😅
It all began with a simple plan: just visit Dharmasthala for a quick weekend darshan. But after a cup of tea and... “something” (no questions, please! 😄), I texted the group. After 4 hours of convincing and 5 guys saying "yes", we were ready to roll!
By 5 PM Friday, we hit the road in my trusty Ford Ikon 1.6 🚗💨 — and just like that, the trip transformed into a full-on temple + waterfall circuit!
Our target? Sigandur by 3 AM. After dinner near Chitradurga and passing through Shivamogga, we drove via Hosanagar (since the ferry isn’t active overnight) and reached Sigandur at 2 AM.
Fresh post-rain weather, cool breeze, zero crowd — we freshened up in the temple's clean restrooms and entered by 3 AM for a blissful darshan. 🕉️ The experience was surreal — early morning pooja here is something every spiritual soul must feel at least once.
🔹 20% to 40% – Hidden Temples & Forest Roads 🌳🛕🌄
From Sigandur, we drove 50 km to Bheemeshwara Temple & Waterfalls — a hidden paradise only accessible by 4x4 or foot. It took 2-3 hours round trip, but was absolutely worth it!
Then came a magical drive through Kodachadri Ghat as the sun rose — reaching Kollur by 10 AM. The peaceful temple visit took just 30 minutes thanks to fewer crowds, followed by a hearty breakfast. Next stop: Sringeri, through the legendary Agumbe Ghat! 🌄
🔹 40% to 60% – Sacred Rivers & Soulful Meals 🍛🛕🌧️
The drive through Agumbe's misty curves was unforgettable. We reached Sringeri by 2 PM, had a quick darshan, clicked a few photos by the Tunga River, and asked locals the best way to Horanadu.
60 km later, we reached Horanadu by 6 PM. It was Ashada season, so the temple was crowded — darshan took 2 hours. But dinner was sorted: a soul-satisfying prasadam meal at the temple. 🙏🍛
We still had 100 km to Dharmasthala via Charmadi Ghat — beautiful yet challenging, especially at night. Reached Dharmasthala by 12 AM, grabbed a clean room for just ₹150, and knocked out for the night! 💤
🔹 60% to 80% – Sunrise Darshans & Bell Blessings 🔔🌅🕉️
Woke up early and stood in line at Dharmasthala by 6:30 AM. It was Sunday, so it took 1.5 hours for darshan — still a peaceful experience.
From there, it was a short 30-min drive to Southadka, home of the open-air Ganapathi Temple. No gudi, no roof — just pure spiritual vibes under the sky. 🌿✨ After breakfast, we set off to Kukke Subramanya, 40 km away.
🔹 80% to 100% – Final Push: Bisle Ghat & Mallalli Falls 🌄💦
Kukke Subramanya was busy, but we managed darshan in 2 hours. Next up: the lesser-known gem — Bisle Ghat View Point, 25 km away. The roads have improved a lot, and the views of Kumaraparvatha were simply mind-blowing! 😍
From there, we continued another 25 km to Mallalli Falls. Roads were smooth, and though we didn’t trek all the way down (600 steps!), the view from midway was more than enough to leave us awestruck.
After spending a peaceful evening amidst the falls and misty air 🌧️☁️, we grabbed some snacks and headed straight to Bangalore via NH75, reaching home by 11 PM.
Mission Accomplished!
✅ 🙌
In just 2 days, we covered:
9 temples 🛕
2 waterfalls 💦
4 legendary ghats (Kodachadri, Agumbe, Charmadi, Bisle) 🌄
And drove 1300+ km through rain, forests, hills, and rivers.
This itinerary is not for everyone — especially families or kids. But if you’re a road tripper, trekker, spiritual soul, or just crazy enough to push limits... this plan is your next calling. 🙏🚗🔥
Add an extra day if you want to slow down and enjoy more. For us? This was a trip of a lifetime.
The End — But the Memories Stay Forever!
🏁
Have a safe journey! Always!
